As a form of research collaboration between Korea and Indonesia in the field of Marine Science and Technology, the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) will provide a survey boat for research purposes through the Korea-Indonesia Marine Technology Cooperation Research Center (MTCRC), as part of the ODA project. The design of the boat will be customized to suit the specific conditions and characteristics of Indonesian waters. Same like ARA boat, the ARA-2 boat is designed to accommodate various marine survey tools, including MultiBeam Echosounder, Single Beam Echosounder, Sub-Bottom Profiler, Grab Sampler, and CTD. Additionally, the ARA boat is equipped with a winch (pulley) to facilitate the operation of these survey equipment.
