Fume Hood
A fume hood is a containment unit designed to safely capture and vent hazardous fumes, vapors, gases, and dust produced during chemical procedures conducted within it. Often referred to as a chemical or lab hood, it safeguards workers from inhaling dangerous substances.
The transparent sliding window, known as the sash, also provides protection against spills and splashes that might happen inside the fume hood. Fume hoods are a crucial component of laboratory exhaust systems and are the most commonly used method for localized ventilation.
