Korea-Indonesia MTCRC's 4th Annual Advisory Board Meeting! On Dec 19, 2023, we explore into dynamic discussions with our respected advisory board, focusing on achievements, innovative approaches, and future strategies for a sustainable MTCRC.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of an appreciation plaque to Dr. Safri Burhanuddin, Chairman of the Advisory Board, in recognition of his outstanding advisor.

Today, on the 19th of December 2023, Professor Hirofumi Hinata, a lecturer at Ehime University, visited the MTCRC Cirebon Center as part of the Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM) conducted by ITB.
MTCRC researchers provided explanations about the activities and facilities at the MTCRC office. In addition, Prof. Hirofumi shared information about his upcoming research collaboration with ITB.

Korea-Indonesia MTCRC participated in the NBAAP Pre-Steering Committee Meeting held at JS Luwansa Hotel Jakarta. The meeting, which saw successful engagement from task force co-chairs and members, featured presentations by Bappenas and in-depth discussions on the 2024 plan for each task force.
The event marked the official launch of the NBAAP Website, where Korea-Indonesia MTCRC also took part in establishing this website. serving as the primary hub for NBAAP data and information, this website is expected to facilitate information more accessible.

12 - 13 December 2023
On the 12 and 13 December 2023, Korea-Indonesia MTCRC, in collaboration with the Indonesian Society for Limnology (MLI) and ITB, organized the "Workshop on Enhancement Capacity for Marine Survey and Laboratory Equipment" at the MTCRC Cirebon Center. Hosted by ITB, the workshop saw 20 attendees from ITB participate.
This agenda aims to understand the methods usually used to measure seawater quality and its pollutants. Dr. Sulung Nomosatryo, M.Si., and Denalis Rohaningsih, M.T. experts from MLI, conducted informative classroom sessions. The two-day program included sampling sessions, classroom sessions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice for ICP-MS operation, Nutrient Autoanalyzer operation, and Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy operation.

Korea-Indonesia MTCRC participated in the NBAAP Blue Innovation Forum 2023 on December 12th, 2023, at Episode Hotel Gading Serpong, Tangerang. NBAAP Blue Innovation Forum provided a platform to develop and implement innovative technologies, methods, and practices to utilize, manage, and sustainably protect marine resources.
This event was opened by remarks from Dr. Vivi Yulaswati, Deputy for Maritime and Natural Resources (Bappenas), Mr. Rahmat Mulianda, Act. Director of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (Bappenas), and Mr. Andreas Hutahean, Act. Assistant Deputy Coordinating Minister for Competitiveness Enhancement for Marine and Fisheries Products (CMMAI).
Dr. PARK Hansan served as an invited speaker during the second session, which focused on Enhancing Human Resource Capacity and Reinforcing Collaboration in Blue Innovation. In his presentation, Dr. PARK elaborated on the collaboration between Korea and Indonesia in the maritime sector facilitated by MTCRC. Additionally, he highlighted various projects undertaken by MTCRC aimed at expediting advancements in marine science and technology within Indonesia.

Korea-Indonesia MTCRC Conducted a regular survey with ITB in the Cirebon Seawaters Area around Pelindo II port. This survey was attended by 4 undergraduate ITB students and supervised by ITB Lecturer Dr. Lamona I. Bernawis.
The ITB students learned about CTD measurement and ADCP current measurement accompanied by MTCRC Researchers. In this agenda, the students also collect field data for their thesis requirements utilizing their own equipment (Secchi disk).

Dr. PARK Hansan and Mrs. Ivonne Radjawane, Ph.D., Directors of Korea-Indonesia MTCRC, took center stage as invited speakers at the International Seminar on "Sustaining Our Blue Planet: Blue Carbon Solution for Climate Mitigation" held by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado. Dr. PARK presented the Science and Technology Cooperation on Blue Carbon with Korea and Indonesia, highlighting the current and future efforts of the MTCRC to support Indonesia's blue carbon research. Meanwhile, Mrs. Ivonne presented the Blue Carbon Study in the Cirebon Coastal Area, showcasing the meticulous multi-approach research conducted and/or supported by the MTCRC.
