Jakarta, June 29, 2026 — The Korea-Indonesia Marine Technology Cooperation Research Center (MTCRC), in collaboration with Pusan National University (PNU), conducted an internal training program entitled *Advanced Technical Training on Coastal Benthic Ecosystem Mapping* in Tidung Island, Seribu Islands, from 22–24 June 2026.
The three-day internal training was organized to strengthen the technical capacity and expertise of MTCRC researchers in coastal benthic ecosystem mapping through field-based practices and advanced technologies. As the demand for accurate coastal ecosystem information continues to grow, mapping technologies play an important role in supporting marine research and sustainable coastal resource management.
The training included practical activities such as drone operation, underwater photogrammetry, water depth measurement, and benthic object hyperspectral signature measurement. Through these activities, participants gained hands-on experience in data collection and mapping methods used for coastal ecosystem assessment.
Through this collaboration with PNU, the training reflects MTCRC’s commitment to strengthening research capacity, enhancing technical expertise, and supporting sustainable coastal and marine ecosystem management.
