The Korea-Indonesia MTCRC supported a survey conducted by ITB in the Cirebon waters on June 26, 2025. Led by Dr. Lamona I Bernawis, an Oceanography lecturer at ITB, the survey focused on measuring oceanographic parameters, monitoring sea currents, and collecting turbidity data along the Cirebon coastline.
23-25 June 2025
On 23–25 June 2025, MTCRC supported the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD), in conducting a field survey as part of the Lecturer Competency Research 2025.
The project, titled “Integrating Advanced Remote Sensing for Climate Risk Assessment”, focuses on applying Drone LiDAR and Satellite Mapping to evaluate climate risks in the Pangandaran coastal area. MTCRC contributed to the success of this survey by providing technical support and necessary equipment. The outcomes will help shape future coastal resilience strategies and climate-related policy development.
10-20 June 2025
As part of the ODA Project entitled “Application System for Managing Indonesian Waters Using the Korean Geostationary Satellite”, MTCRC and KIOST conducted a photometric survey in Makassar waters from 10 to 20 June 2025 using the TriOS RAMSES hyperspectral radiometer.
This activity focuses on the measurement of water-leaving radiance, sky radiance, and downward irradiance with the objective of deriving sea surface reflectance. The resulting data will support the verification of remote sensing observations from the Cheollian-2B FD satellite. It continues the joint survey efforts carried out in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
17-18 June 2025
On June 17–18, 2025, a Korean delegation from KHOA, KIOST, and Moonsoft visited Indonesia to explore cooperation in marine and oceanographic fields. The visit began with a meeting with the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs (CMFA) to discuss bilateral collaboration in ocean-related food sectors. The delegation then visited KIOTEC and the MTCRC Cirebon Center, accompanied by MTCRC Director Mr. Park Hansan, to tour the facilities, explore marine equipment, observe research activities, and identify opportunities for future collaboration.
