Kei Island Survey: Environment Parameters survey for the development of Seaweed Estate Program
The Kai Island Survey was held on 4-9th November 2021
In support of this program, MTCRC together with other institutions (CMMAI, MMAF, through BPBPL-Ambon and DJPB, DKP Southeast Maluku and BRIN-Ambon) conducted a survey of environmental parameters and mapping the area to find out the latest data related to the location of potential seaweed cultivation area for supporting Southeast Maluku Regency as a Seaweed Estate location.
The survey aims to :
To assist the Government of Indonesia in determining policy directions and strategic plans for seaweed aquaculture site selection through scientific research.
To observe the environmental parameters of the existing seaweed cultivation area.
To observe the condition of the existing seaweed in a cultivation area, therefore the distribution can be recognized, estimated, and identified.

Research Projects
The Bappelitbangda Project is a cooperation between Bappelitbangda Cirebon, ITB and MTCRC. This Project focuses on the accretion and abrasion rate at Cirebon Regency Coastal Area and the mangrove conservation area at Losari District. The MoU was signed on April, 26th 2021 and the activities began on last May 2021. The team (ITB, Bappelitbangda, MTCRC) conducted a field survey and analyzed it based on the result of hydrodynamic modeling and statistical calculations.
The project aims to :
Identify the location of potential erosion and sedimentation along the Cirebon Regency Coastal Area.
Mapping the potential for land formation in Cirebon Regency.
Simulating erosion and sedimentation potential formation rate trend in Cirebon Regency.
Make a Scientific Study on the establishment of a mangrove conservation area in Losari District.
Formulating policy recommendations for the use of emergent land and mangrove conservation areas in Cirebon Regency.
Sriwijaya Airplane SJ-182 Search and Rescue (SAR) Survey at Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta
Sriwijaya SAR Survey was held on 10-19th January 2021 at Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta
This survey was attended by representatives from MTCRC, CMMAI, BPPT, BASARNAS, KNKT, PSDKP Muara Baru, and Indonesian Navy
MTCRC conducted a comprehensive survey to support this activity, mainly bathymetric and side-scan surveys utilizing multi-beam echosounder as part of Search and Rescue (SAR). The field survey aims to determine the bottom profile and detect a significant object in the seabed around Lajang and Laki island as Last Known Position (LKP) at Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta as the location of SJ182 informed by BASARNAS.
Coastal Environmental Campaign in Cirebon
Cirebon Coastal Cleanup Campaign was successfully held on 3rd September 2019. The campaign involved more than 200 people, including students and residents of Cirebon
Approximately 1 ton of marine waste was collected
About 200 people including CMMA, Korea Embassy, KIOST, ITB, Cirebon City Government, MOF, Environmental Agency of Cirebon City, Cirebon Regency Maritime and Fisheries Agency, Cirebon Indonesian National Navy, Cirebon Military District Commander, Cirebon Port Authority, IPC, KOMIPO, Scholarship Awardee, Teacher, Students of MAN 1 Kabupaten Cirebon, Students of SMAN 8 Kota Cirebon, Media, Bank Mandiri, KIORCC, KRI-KSP and Volunteers from ITB Students.
